Unique Entertainment

So, First off, we're thinking to ourselves that you might be thinking to yourselves "so what's so cool and unique about the Soul Persuaders? What makes them so different from all the other bands out there?" In a nutshell, here it is. We (Les, Fred and Phil) relocated to Reno from Detroit (Motown) just a few years ago. We've been working together for most of our lives. We brought with us decades of professional experience playing, recording and touring with many of the biggest names in R&B, Motown, Soul and Funk including the Contours, Carl Carlton, Marvelettes, Rick James, Temptations, Four Tops, Ray Charles, Shotgun, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Freida Payne, Leslie Gore, Miracles, Drifters, Gene Chandler, Flamingos... and many more. We hope to see you at a show in the very near future.

The Soul Persuaders

"The Soul Persuaders were a hit at the 2016 Taste of Downtown Carson City event. Their music style and crowd interaction contributed to them being voted Best Band. They were a great group of guys to work with, would love to have them back another year." - Terri Farnworth, Advocates to End Domestic Violence

"A million thank you's to the band! Saturday's Juneteenth Celebration event was a huge success! The bands, energy, passion, hard work and dedication shined right through! The Northern Nevada Black Cultural Awareness Society and I, we appreciate you all!!" - Kimberly Jones

"Mike, the Soul Persuaders look & sound great. Both Phil Weaver and Fred Williams are dedicated & fine musicians. I wish you guys the utmost success, Joe!" - Joe Billingslea, Founder of the Motown group, The Contours. (Note: Soul Persuaders members Phil Weaver (lead guitar and vocals) and Fred Williams (bass) toured and played with the Contours for many years).

"Motown and Sultry Soul combine with a dash of Funk to create the Soul Persuaders signature sound. The rich melodies and smooth harmonizing from these four gentlemen will have you dancing and groovin' all through the night." - Atlantis Casino, Reno, Nevada.

The Soul Persuaders members include Phil Weaver (lead guitar and vocals), Fred Williams (bass), Les Carter (drums and backup vocals) and newest member Lee Davis (lead vocals). Three members - Phil, Fred and Les - are from Detroit, original home of Motown. As youngsters they lived Motown music. Fred and Les had their own R&B band and performed at Berry Gordy's home. All three moved on to tour and record with many of the major Motown groups. Lee, an accomplished vocalist, is originally from Compton, CA and now makes his home in Reno.

The Soul Persuaders perform the finest R&B, Soul, Motown, Funk and Blues. Band members have decades of professional experience touring and recording with some of the biggest names in R&B. The band is located in Reno, Nevada and is willing to travel the world for the right gig. Locally, the band appears at weddings, reunions, private parties, fund raising events, festivals, casinos and select clubs - anywhere live professional and energetic dance music is needed.

For more details about the band members' amazing professional music careers, check out their interview video and biography. We look forward to seeing you at a show soon.
